The image shows a small, deep pink flower on a sprawling plant in a wetland in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. The plant is Marsh Cinquefoil (Comarum palustre), a native plant that blooms in summer in the Adirondacks. It is a member of the Rose family. Marsh Cinquefoil grows in wetlands, including emergent marshes, swamps, fens, flooded meadows, and the edges of bogs. It can also be found along the edges of ponds, lakes, and streams.
