Slightly cooler on today’s run but still reasonably warm. My running style has been described as “economical” but personally, I’d describe it as being like a 3-legged donkey! 👨🏻‍🦳😂 #runnersofbluesky #runnersover65 #ukrunchat #running

6x400m intervals this morning. Not used to speed work but I hit the target zone and strangely enjoyed the run.

Okay. Sending it out into the universe. Week 2 day 2 was another run where I kept my breath and worked on posture. Eventually goal - run 30 minutes at a pace I can run easy at a faster pace. @indymonumental half coming up. Let's go! #halfmarathontraining #13point1 #runnersofbluesky #runchat

Fresh haircut, sunny day, Tuesday run—clearly a shorts-and-tee kind of morning. Just need to remember my Scottish skin has two settings: “pale” and “lobster,” so best not push my luck.😂 #running #runnersofbluesky #runnersover65 #sunshine

Intervals this morning - tough going against the breeze. Getting good advice from ChatGPT to mix up these intervals with 6x400m sessions
Cruise intervals = building your engine
400s = increasing your ceiling

Sunny but chilly this morning. Easy pace, listening to 175 bpm music, with 6 sets of strides at the end. Nice to be out and Monday miles always feel good.

Höhenweg, Tempo

First half of this run was at easy pace. After a climb of 40 meters I switched to tempo.

This was fun.

Progression Run

Windy, warm and sunny weather. Spring is here!

Wanted to find my zone 3 boundary. So I started at an easy pace and increased pace every 500 m a little bit. Zone 3 starts at 4:26 min/km and got my best vo2max since my heart surgery.

Easy run scheduled for today. Slow pace with Podrunner podcast of 172 bpm. Sun, rain, driving leg-stinging hail. An enjoyable start to the day.

Kandel, Threshold Run

4 x 5 min @ 4:00 min/km

Medium temperatures but a threshold pace one will get warm and the little rain was compensated by threshold pain which I like a lot.

That was the best run of this week.

Hitting the rural trails this morning. A relaxing, hilly run wearing my Hoka Challengers, the trail version of the Cliftons. A slight drizzle initially but it only lasted for a few minutes.

9 miles. Too warm, too hilly, and slower than I would have liked, but it is done! This was all a lot easier 20 years ago 😂. #running #runnersofbluesky

6x400m intervals this morning for someone who’s rarely done any speed work in the past. Strangely enjoyable and a 7:00min/mile pace is becoming more comfortable. VO2max improving too. Adds some fun & variety

The 4.5 kilometre marker on Toronto’s Lower Don Trail. Depending on your point of view, the marker has either been defaced or improved by a white graffiti tag. Behind it is a brick cube-shaped pumping station which has been similarly defaced/improved. Because the image comes from the poster’s Strava account, it is overlaid with running stats and the words, “The Wind Blew Me Home.”

The bronze statue of Terry Fox mid-stride on his Marathon of Hope. To the left behind the statue and blowing in the wind is a Canadian flag. The memorial is set in a stand of trees which are bare because spring has not yet arrived.

Today I logged my 1st 1000 kms of 2026. For perspective, that’s 75% of the distance from my home to the Terry Fox Memorial in Thunder Bay. Or 0.25% of the avg distance from the Earth to the moon. #Running #RunSky #RunnersOfBlueSky #MarathonTraining #TerryFox #Artemis

Me sitting on the ground outside looking up at the sky with my hands behind me. In a green shirt and black shorts with a gray workout hat on. Bright blue sky above with trees in the background. In the bottom right corner I have added my time distance and pace from the run I finished today of 50:02 for time, 3.71 miles for distance and 13:28 minutes per mile for pace

Ever have one of those runs where you could feel like you could go forever?! This run today was like that. Kept a 12:45 pace for the whole thing except about 30 seconds to stop for some water. I felt amazing! #runningcommunity #runsky #slowpacerunner #runnergirl #runnersofbluesky

Easy paced, low HR run this morning. Felt a bit lethargic beforehand but once out the miles flew by. It’s a good feeling, and improves your mood, to start the day having accomplished something. Now porridge.

I’ve given up #running in winter gear, so went out in shorts & froze my keister. And my fingers. And my ears. And I got well caked in mud. I guess that makes me an April Fool. #Run #RunSky #RunnersOfBlueSky #MarathonTraining

Run Club Day and I met two old run club buddies. We met 6 weeks ago the last time. Nice conversation at a slow pace. Something between an easy run and recovery.

Kandel, Easy

Went out for a vo2max session 10 x 400m@3:45min/km. Although hitting goal pace at very well I felt bad so I stopped immediately.

Body got too warm running intervals and much too cold in recovery periods. I’m waiting for summer.

This image is sepia toned, not intentionally, but because early spring scenes in Toronto tend to be dull and emphatically not green. In the foreground is the paved path of Taylor Creek trail curving off to the right and underneath the Woodbine Bridge which curves overhead in a broad arch. In the middle ground, leaning into the image from the right, is a bare willow tree. Because the image comes from the poster’s Strava account, it is overlaid with running stats and the words, “Feeling Gratitude that I can do this.”

Been a while since I last posted a #run to BS. No reason. Except maybe after big runs I lose my fine motor skills & have trouble manipulating the tiny keys on my digital devices. Anyhoo, yesterday took me up to Taylor Creek in #Toronto #LongRun #Running #MarathonTraining #RunSky #RunnersOfBlueSky
