Paeonia x suffruticosa 'Shima-Nishiki'. A many-petalled tree peony flower with brilliant magenta-red petals and a cluster of golden stamens. A bit of blurry green in the BG.
Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Easter' (Keith Keppel 1995)/ A close=up on the fall and beard. The Flags are white with some lilac and yellow washing, the falls are white with yellow speckling merging into a yellow margin, and the beard is white with saffron tips. More in the BG, blurry.
Thalictrum aquilegifolium 'Nimbus White'. On a dark blurry leafy green BG, little bursts of white threads, which I think are actually stamens (I'm not sure).
Verbascum x phoenicum, purple mullein. A shot section of the lfower spike, showing several open flowers. Each has five fused petals, light violet with orange freckles toward the center, and a "bee" of white fuzz int he center, protecting the repriductive parts. Blurry BG.

#Rust on #Thalictrum minus caused by #Aecidium thalictri (syn. #Puccinia recondita s.l.). Not possible to determine the species at this stage, but exciting discovery of the day, with the abundance of aecia on Berberis (Chenôve, FR).
