A seed bell hanging from thin branches. The bottom branches look like they are spilling out of the frame but it's actually the white snowy "horizon" formed by a hill in the yard.
Chickadee checking it out. A black and tan chickadee perched on a thin branch looking down on the multi-coloured suet seed bell. There is a soft background and a small red leaf still hanging on the tree from fall.
The black-capped chickadee has moved to the side of the bell, picking out a seed while a red-breasted nuthatch perches on a nearby twig waiting its turn (for now).
The Red-Breasted Nuthatch alone on the bell, its feet are spread out to perch on the bell and its head is pointed up. Caption: "I'll give it a try and let you know."
This seed bell was light enough to hang from a tree branch that was too flimsy to support the squirrels' weight and too high for them to reach (so goes the battle...) The birds all got a turn and it was well-received while it lasted. Might also qualify for #BirdofTheDay #TwigsAreUs ?

In the upper right of the image a black-capped chickadee holds onto a small branch that is angling sharply up to the right. The bird's beak is very slightly open. Numerous other branches from a bush fill the bottom of the scene, while in the upper left some nice bokeh from distant beech leaves can be seen.
