Fan-shaped polypore mushrooms in shades of green and cream are stacked and overlapping one another on an upright piece of an old branch that's fallen on ground that is mostly covered by dead orange and brown leaves.
Love the look of this little tower of fungi that I often pass on my daily walks with the dogs. Its look and color changes depending on the light. Especially pretty yesterday. Had to share.

A grouping of three chickweed blooms, with tiny but long, skinny white petals and thick green leaves, very small flowers that are blooming up through leaf-covered ground.
This chickweed is teeny, teeny tiny, bloom size smaller than a pencil eraser, barely visible in the leaves. The sun caught them and made them shimmer.

Wild garlic leaves picked in a plastic food bag. (In spite of ticking the 'no bags' option the supermarket always deliver with some items in these flimsy little bags. So I hoard them in a drawer and reuse them as many times as possible) In the background, out of focus, are the leaves growing on the woodland floor. There's a lovely little wood near where I live, and this is my favourite time of year to go. At the moment the wild garlic is carpeting the ground, and the rooks call overhead. Soon there'll be wood anemone and bluebells. It's a wonderful place.

Taking the #dog for a solid walk this am. I'm not so mobile anymore but if given the opportunity she gives herself a good exercise. If I walk 5kms, she runs 15. When she's tired, she comes and noses her leash to tell me "we're done". #walk, #walkinthewoods, #blueskydogs

I did the #newyearplanthunt in Almond Park this weekend. As with last year, only the spiky gorse plant was in bloom. The river is frozen in patches but I saw a Mallard diving in an ice-free section 😎
