Today the Whitetailed Deer herd (Odocoileus virginianus) were taking advantage of the hardened snow to browse maple (Acer), ash (Fraxinus), and oak (Quercus) twigs that they previously could not reach.

Update on my homemade Balsam Poplar suet feeder. It has managed to attract Blackcapped Chickadees, Whitebreasted Nuthatches, Downy Woodpeckers, and a Hairy Woodpecker - though the feeder was too smaller for pecking. The next one I make with have a tail bracer for them #WinterWildlife #WildlifeGarden
