Two male Wood Ducks gliding together across a small pond. Their head feathers are a crest of iridescent green, blue, and purple, with bold white stripes along the cheeks and neck. They have red eyes and a bright red-and-white bill with a yellow patch at the base. They have a rich chestnut colored breast with white specks and buffy, yellowish-tan sides. The wings have dark, bronze-green and black feathers, with metallic blue-green patches. There are light brown, dried reeds on the edge of the pond, which are reflected in the water. You can also see some light blue in the water from the blue sky above. Seen at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, Massachusetts a week before the start of Spring 2025.

Duck with gray head having a bold white eye ring, white throat, brown body with white spots on the side, and patches of iridescent color in hues of plum, teal, blue and emerald green. She's paddling through the reflection of the colorful giant wheels of water bikes that can be rented at the park. Key to seeing ducks here is to go before the water bike rental opens - once screaming people are paddling around the lake, the ducks go hide.
