A macro photo of a willow weevil. The weevil is excavating a sawfly gal on a leaf, where it will eventually lay an egg. The leaf is bright green and covered in fine, rough hairs. The weevil is black with a long rostrum, buried deep into the gal.

An image of an Opilione (common names: Harvestman and Daddy-long-legs). It is Dicraopalpus ramosus, a distinctive harvestman with forked palps. This harvestman appears quite sad, slumped over a plant stem, looking forlornly at the camera.
Local harvestman discovers that having eight legs doesn't help carry the weight of perpetual misidentification by humans.
