Partial view of the back north 'wall' of a rock bed, with closely fitted rounded glacial stones of tan brown smooth quartzite or black flecked reddish or dull speckled granite. From above left and between some of the stones in centre grows a small plant Paederota bonarota with thickish, somewhat cupped, more or less spatulate irregulary toothed leaves which are alternate opposite. The leaves are medium green though rather battered looking this late in the season, red rimmed and stained, fading to gold in places, especially the outermost/smallest leaves. From many of the branch tips dangle cat-tail like clusters of thready spent flowers/seed heads. To the right a nearly flat densely growing plant with tiny fuzzy 3 part leaves spills over the rocks. New leaves are a silver green, old leaves faded grey-brown or showing hints of dull autumn pinky gold. Both plants grown from seed from the Dolomites mountains.

Yellow Fieldcap (Bolbitius titubans), and I'm pleased to learn that apparently its also known as the 'Golden Dungling', growing along hens and chicks in a bowl of very gritty compost. I think a bag of compost I used to pot up a bunch of succulent type plants in very early spring must have been full of spores or something, these little yellow mushrooms have been coming up among cacti and sempervivums ever since.
I didn't have to walk far to find this one, it was growing right outside my door 🌱🍄🌵
