Photo by Fenichel Atop a jumble of trees (rookery), is a cormorant on left (large bird, yellow beak), and top center, a 'singing' (loudly calling) anhinga (black wings, white neck, wide open mouth). A little lower down is a bright pink and reddish roseate spoonbill, with its namesake "spoon" bill.

Anhingas are sort of like cormorants with longer necks, longer tails, and a dagger-like bill. They swim with their body submerged and “pump” their head back and forth as part of their swimming motion. This shot is a profile silhouette, complete with a near-perfect reflection and sumptuous, dappled pond surface. Hope you enjoy!
