A macro photograph of a cluster of buds on a forsythia bush. The brown stem cuts diagonally through the frame from the top left third to two-thirds into the bottom edge. The four pointed buds closest to the camera are largely in focus and a round raindrop dangles from the tip of the right most one. The petals, still tightly wrapped, are a bright yellow-green. The cracked open casings of the buds have a burgundy tinge them. There are at least another half dozen buds out of focus in the cluster. The background is a soft mix of brown, grey, and cream from other branches and overcast skies.
