I've seen a few juvenile Orbweavers succumb to the cold winters of Eastern WA. Found this one on the side of my house in early November and decided to bring it inside just to see if I could keep it alive until spring. It's living in a 10 gal aquarium and has molted twice 😍. #Araneus #Orbweaver
Araneus marmoreus, commonly called the marbled orb-weaver, is a species of spider belonging to the family Araneidae. It is sometimes also called the pumpkin spider from the resemblance of the female's inflated abdomen to an orange pumpkin. It has a Holarctic distribution.

The spider's legs are slender and tan with darker brown stripes, one front leg is extended just touching the house, the other legs arrayed around her. Her cephalothorax (Forebody) is pale tan, her eyes arrayed around the front, above her dark brown fangs, her rotund abdomen is darker brown, covered with many small hairs, and has darker spots.
