somehow the last photo i took of a corvid is from back in September, rather strange as i literally spend 80% of my time these days in a place that used to be called 'crowland' and that is also packed with jays which call at us constantly - anyhow the photo shows a blue jay sitting on a branch with a shocked expression and an open beak, it is shown from the underside and the fluffy white bottom is illuminated by a ray of sunshine - we had been feeding the park animals peanuts and this guy just dropped its nut - oh no.

The #birdoftheday theme is #birdbutts. Hereโs a common yellowthroat. She was hopping around in a tree last summer, and I couldnโt see her very well but I kept snapping away and was pleasantly surprised when I uploaded the photo.
