Monochrome photo of a small wooden hut, with a central door flanked by boarded up windows. The photo has been processed to highlight the grain and texture of the wood.
The hut is made from old railway sleepers, oriented vertically with smaller planks covering the gaps. The smaller planks have weathered significantly and are much lighter tone, giving the building a striped appearance. The paint on the door is peeling off in places.
Above the door, written with lines of nails is 19NCC30. It was the Newtonmore Curling Club hut, at Loch Imrich

Many rivulets of water, cascading over the edge, forming alternating patterns of dark and light. At first glance the scale is not clear, and it appears very grand, but in fact the drop is only about 10cm, given away by the bubbles in the lower right. It is formed by a concrete ford across the stream, the far side just visible at the top.

Portrait orientation monochromatic photo of a single track road heading off into the distance, up Glen Banchor. The left side of the photo is dominated by three gnarly Scots Pine trees, clumps of almost black foliage scattered across their branches, casting shadows on the road and almost obscuring the cattle grid on the road. Behind this, a solitary 20 speed limit sign, looking somewhat incongruous with the mountainous terrain behind. The sky is cloudy, with a clear patch in the middle, and bare branches frame the right side of the shot.

Landscape photo of backlit scene, almost perfectly reflected in a very still section of the River Spey at Newtonmore. A similar view, but the ice has multiple levels, each frosted on the top, forming an opaque layer. The stones are bounded by darker ice, adding structure to the scene.
