This common flicker wasn't happy when I put up a tripod and started taking photos of its comings and goings in and out of the hole in the side of a tree. The flicker has a long beak, a red patch on the back of the head, a black "collar", and gray and black speckled chest and torso feathers. We don't see flickers often at our suet feeders.

Bird of the Day theme is "speckled". I have hundreds of bird photos in my files, but very few speckled feather patterns.
I guess the chest of this common flicker would qualify.
