A cold blue toned photograph of a variety of birds in the a pond in winter. An aerial shot taken with a drone over a small frozen village pond. The ice has been kept clear in a small area by the mallards, coots, moor hens and swans working together to share the ice free area. The fringes of the pool have hundreds of small pieces of food - mostly bread - encased in the frozen water as local visitors throw and scatter food towards the birds. They won't go hungry!

The Blue Whale. The local pond now has a sheet of ice covering most of it, but the resident wildlife have got together to keep this small section clear, taking turns to circle and keep it ice free. Nature does it best.

Sublime afternoon at #RSPBScotland Tay Reed Beds - Bearded Tit, seen and heard, Reed Bunting, Reed & Sedge Warblers too! Also big breeding (?) group of Shelducks - thoroughly recommend day trip from #birdinglothian #TayReedBeds

Absolute melts totally ignoring the wild fire warnings in place just now (not had rain for weeks) and with the grass and reeds as dry as a bone, they were lucky that their horrific BBQ didn't spread and cause some real damage.
