Rubble constructed walls and roughly dressed voussoir of the pointed (but rather wayward) arch give an ancient feel although this was likely lime plastered when first built
A formal, dignified Classical building of two stories with pediments above windows, emphasized quoining, corner pilasters on the 2nd story and an entablature across the top. Mainly deep yellow, with deep red accents.
A bit of a twist on #SundayStonework: The Masonic Lodge, Dawson City, Yukon. Designed by Robert Moncrief, built in 1903 to serve as the public library, funded by the Carnegie Foundation.
The twist is that the ‘stonework’ is actually pressed tin.

On left, with left edge partially broken off, the face has almond shaped eyes, and a closed mouth with sides pointing downward, looking grumpy/unhappy. On right, a comedic face, with almond eyes tilted up at the sides and a partly open smiling mouth. It's no longer supporting anything, but positioned high on a wall.

Some suggest that the carving depicts Alexander the Great being carried to heaven by griffins, whereas Pevsner disagrees. Guidebook suggests 5 different options but perhaps could represent man being beset by vice or temptation.

A view down the long lavatorium in the cloister of Gloucester Cathedral. A shelf plus basin in front of it extends the complete length towards a stained glass window at the end. The ceiling is elaborately carved in a series of interlinking fan-vaulted arches. On the right, seven pairs of stained glass windows can be seen, each one with three lights.
Lavatorium in Gloucester Cathedral has 14th C origins as facilities for monks in earlier abbey to wash.
