A tea cup and saucer in dark maroon & cream floral fabric, with white for the inside of the cup and underneath the saucer, appliqued onto cream and maroon floral fabric. The inside of the cosy is dark maroon, as is the bias binding piping around the edge
Three fuchsia flowers on a green stem are cross-stitched onto white Aida fabric. The sepals are maroon, with pale pink petals and filaments. I really enjoyed being able to replicate the shape of the fuchsia, by using half cross-stitches

Blue and white dotted/striped fabric was used for the body, plus red bias binding to join the two sides. In the centre, a cupcake was made from dark blue and red/green flowered fabric, with red fabric for the icing. It was topped with a green button picking out the green leaves of the cupcake fabric. White buttonhole stitch was used to applique the cupcake to the background fabric.
The same fabric was used for both the carrier bag holder and the cupcake on the tea-cosy. It was elasticated around the bottom to prevent bags from falling out, but the top was more open, to accept new bags. The hanging loop was made from 1" wide white tape

Made from a variety of coloured fabric which was destined for the tip. The central panel is a combination of all the fabrics used in squares at two corners. White was used to separate the central panel from the squares. All 4,500 pieces were hand-cut and individually knotted on to rug canvas.
Made from various purple patterned Laura Ashley fabric offcuts, and edged with purple bias binding. The pattern has seven panels radiating from a central semi-circle, with a strip of contrasting fabric at the bottom. It was quite tricky to sew and it was a while before I tried this pattern again!
For today's #MakersmARTch theme of #pattern, I couldn't decide between two things, so doing both 😁 Firstly, a rag rug using fabric samples saved from being thrown away, in a pattern I hadn't tried before.
