What is the #ngVLA?
The Next Generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) is a proposed, much more capable radio telescope array inspired by the NSF NRAO's #VeryLargeArray. The project proposal calls for 263 dishes across North America (most in the US Southwest).

Selfie of me on my bicycle wearing a lime green helmet, clear cycling glasses, a forest green buff, a sea green long sleeve shirt, and a back pack. I’m holding up one hand wearing a fingerless cycling glove making a peace sign and behind me are some of the radio telescopes of the Very Large Array in New Mexico.
It’s a testament to my lack of route planning that I had no idea I was passing the #VLA today! 😅
So cool seeing all the telescopes move in sync as they tracked different targets. Love to see #science being done. Merry Christmas from the set of “Contact”!😉
