A view of a female zebra jumpingn spider, looking down on her slightly from the front. She's standing on a double glazed window, which is reflecting grey, but there's also two reflections of her, underneath her, one from each pane of glass. Her head is canted downwards as if she's admiring how she looks. Her legs and body are finely patterned with little, black, brown, and white hairs, giving her a mottled sort of appearance. Almost like she's been coloured in with fine pencil strokes. Her two main eyes are large for her head, black with white highlights from the camera flash.

Feeling πŸ’© today, but the πŸ¦“πŸ•΄οΈπŸ•·οΈ was on the window in the porch, so distracted myself with 10mins of trying to predict what she was going to do next, to get a πŸ“·. I like this one as it looks like she's checking out her purty self in the reflection. #wildlifefrommywindow #arachnid #invertebrates #spider

A head on shot of a small black and white spider, hanging upside down from a white textured plaster ceiling. It has two large black eyes staring at the camera, with a smaller black eye on either side. Its face is mainly white with fine black and light brown details, and a brush of fine black hairs pointing straight downwards. Its body is mainly obscured by its pedipalps, small limbs used for manipulating prey. It's legs are mottled white and black.

I saw a jumping πŸ•·οΈ out the corner of my eye. Thought it'd be the Fleecy from before, but it was a ♀️Zebra Jumping #spider. Somehow our untidy porch is habitat for 2 sp. of my favourite fam of πŸ•·οΈ! Hanging upside down seems to be a hair raising experience! #invertebrates #arachnid #wildlifefrommywindow

The #frog fornication frenzy has slowed down, only one new clump last night. There's a good amount though, which is just as well as a neighbours cat seems to like fresh frog eggs! It's been back every night, but only pays attention to the fresh stuff. A #spawn connoisseur? #wildlifefrommywindow

1min of frantic froggie fornication from today. I put a security camera by the pond so I could see what they're up to. What a perv! A portrait photo of a vertical seedhead on an Evening Primrose, tall and thin with lots of short brown seedpods jutting out all the way up. At the top a Goldfinch is balanced with seeds grasped in its light grey beak. It has a black and white head with a red forehead. Its shoulders and body are a light brown, with maybe a hint of red (I'm colour blind so not the most reliable!). Its tail is black with white dots at the end, and its wing feathers are similar, but with bright yellow flashes.

Sat down with my πŸ«–, looked out the πŸͺŸ (which mainly shows the neighbours 🏠) & saw the #FirstBirdOfMyDay. A Goldfinch working its way up the seeds on an Evening Primrose! There were 2 flitting about in the meadow patch, & this 1 munching away. Even got a πŸ“· through the dirty πŸͺŸ. #wildlifefrommywindow

A lull in Sunday soundscape of traffic, drills, and hedge trimmers, allowed me to hear some croaking. Peering at the pond revealed these two in amplexus. Just over a fortnight away from when the first #frog spawn usually appears, not long to go.

It's a portrait photo in 16:9 format, so tall and thin. The right hand side of the frame bisects the bees face, head on. He has an orange, and pale yellow hairy face with dark black jaw. At the top of his head the hairs are less dense showing his occilli, small little light sensors that help him understand what's going on around him. His eye is like an elongated hemisphere, made up of lots of tiny lenses which are just about clear. It is framed on its left hand side by the hairs at the back of his head, giving it an impression of wearing a furry head dress. Slightly furhter out the dark black foreleg is just in focus as it is folded back underneath his body.

Trying to distract myself from all theπŸ’©going on in the world, so took some more photos of Eric. He lost his left antenna in storage so I framed things a bit differently. A portrait profile shot of a bees head and thorax. The bee is looking to the right, with a green/blue background. It's covered in fine hairs, from pale yellow to orange in colour. The whole of the bee is in focus allowing details like the occeli on it's head to be clearly visible. It's tongue is extended, with the central glossa having a bottlebrush like structure on the end. The labial palpa, which extend either side of the glossa to help form a tube to drink nectar, are also visible, as are the galea which support the tongue when it's in use.

A close up photo of a spider on a white PVC door. Most of the frame is taken up with the white PVC which has a woodgrain effect embossed in to it. The spider is looking down from the top right corner of the frame. It is mainly dark brown with a light splodge down the middle of its abdomen, like a badly painted racing stripe. It's legs alternate in dark and light brown stripes. It has two large eyes at the front of its head.

A portrait photo of a large black spider. The majority of the frame is covered by light brown wood, in and out of focus. The spider is crouched on the left hand side of the frame with its legs stretched out across the frame to the right hand side. Its legs are a reddish brown, and are obscuring its head. Its large abodomen is predominantly black with some light white hairs around the edge, and white pattern, like an inverted Y, which is made up of small splodges, almost like mosaic tiles.

A portrait photo of a butterfly perched on a flower seed head. The seed head has five prongs reaching up, light brown dried out fingers, and the butterfly is perched on one of these and is angled down and to the right. It's white and black striped antennae stretch out at the front, and it's right eye is just visible from behind the nearest wing which is edge on. The furthest wing is angled to show off the irridescent blue sheen that emerges from the mainly brown colouring. Around the hind edge of the wing are white panels with black dots in them, with orange splodges on the edge.

A landscape macro photo of a butterfly wing. It is close enough to show the individual scales that make up the wing surface, and so looks like a pixellated image. The wing section is predominantly red, with some black splodges that contrast highly. There is one section of light blue scales, and the wing edge has a white lining. The wing is quite tattered.

From behind the middle petal, on either side, the legs of a bug hiding on the reverse can be seen. Just below the petal, about halfway across the frame, enough of the insects body is visible for one eye to be seen, and the black and white striped antennae are also protruding.
