Screenshot of the following novel excerpt: Silk scarves must feel basically the same way when they unravel as Nasrin feels soaking into the Tree. Every fiber stretches out, bits disconnect, but they stay rooted to larger scraps that hold together. Her frayed ends start to feel more like tentacles streaming from a malleable nucleus. She flexes her tentacles in circumspect undulations, reaching out and pulling in. Everything tastes and smells like a wooden stirrer soaked in sweet tea. She constantly hears a pestle running along the rim of a chiming bowl. Through closed eyelids he sees light as if looking up at the noonday sun. Her eyes sting when she opens them. Squinting helps. She sees nothing but green static at first. Blinking brings more distinct shapes into focus. She stands inside a wooden tower, looking up from the base of a spiral staircase leading up to story upon story of platforms on which stand unfamiliar people dress in choir robes. Her body clips into the floor at her hips. From there down she senses that her body splits into a network of kraken-esque appendages reaching through the walls to the Tree’s roots and limbs.
Context: Nasrin has just turned herself into a steam cloud and soaked into a magic tree. It may or may not absorb her soul and she may or may not be able to extract herself, but she might get to see Julrane again, and that's all she really cares about. #WIPSnips #WritingCommunty #tenacle

Cavern Clipper sequel (Cavern Echoes) start, 1804 words written. I wasn't even supposed to be here today!!!
Welp, i did it. This wasn't supposed to happen for at least six months! I was supposed to edit Cavern Clipper until it was somewhat polished, then write something else! Yet here I am, writing this damn dancing scene between the two MCs!

Everything a Dog Should Be My dog Willy came into my life exactly when I needed him. My heart was closed to everyone but my daughters. He taught me to trust in something again. He showed me it was okay to open up. He’s my best friend. My truest companion. I trust him more than you. And I can say that to almost everybody. He makes me laugh and he’s always happy. Happy to be with me, excited for every walk, thrilled at the same old dinner. The big guy always has a smile and a wag in his tail. He makes my heart light when I need it most. I get lifted watching his simple joy of life. It’s infectious. He might not be the dog for everybody, but he’s everything a dog should be to me. -JSC
