I’ve gone for the #RareEncounters Alt option for #BirdOfTheDay today as I’ve only seen a Slavonian Grebe once. Nice image of the Sedge Warbler Alan.

Exciting to see this young female Sparrowhawk trying to conceal itself behind a bush in the garden. It flew off chasing a blackbird, not sure if it caught it or not.

The enormity of the white-tailed eagle is always more obvious when it’s being mobbed by another bird. This buzzard looked so small in comparison. No surprise when a sea eagles wingspan can reach 2.4 metres.

My third white-tailed eagle in the last month, all in different locations, & also saw my first Merlin of the year yesterday too, but didn’t have my camera ready for that one, unfortunately.

#SmallBirdsInFlight - now you've really set us a challenge for #BirdOfTheDay! Nice set, showing us how to do it Rob. Here's my late submission - I love the look on the face of the Blue tit still on the feeder!

There’s been a dearth of white winged gulls in NE Aberdeenshire this winter so the 2 Glaucous Gulls that have turned up in Fraserburgh Harbour have been very welcome. This ringed individual is a bit of a beast as you can see next to a great black back. #BirdingScotland #Gulls #Birds
