Une échasse blanche en train de marcher dans un étang aux eaux calmes qui reflètent le bleu du ciel. Elle est de profil tournée vers la gauche. Elle a une patte dans l’eau jusqu’au genou, et l’autre repliée avec les doigts au dessus de l’eau. Son reflet est troublé mais visible. On voit de la végétation sortir de l’eau.

9 échasses blanches posées dans un étang peu profond, entre deux bandes de végétation brunâtre et derrière quelques joncs de mer vert foncé. La surface de l’eau est troublée par quelques petites vagues et a pris une teinte bleu-ciel, ainsi que des reflets cuivrés.

It has a broad distribution, inhabiting shallow wetlands like marshes, lagoons, and salt pans across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Stilts are often seen wading in shallow water, probing for aquatic invertebrates. They are social birds, sometimes forming small groups, and are known to be very protective of their nests and young, actively mobbing potential predators.
