#Buckthorn in SW WI is very invasive. I. The last 10 years or so we've been very diligent removing the fruiting trees, and tearing out the roots, and making sure the native trees that were being smothered by buckthorn now get the space they need.

The stem of a Buckthorn bush can be seen, with a part of a pine tree and other plants in the background. Around the buckthorn plentiful little green leafy plants, lass than 10 cm high. These are all buckthorn plants grown from seed.
