A view of lake Ekoln, looking South. The lake is all frozen, with a thin snow cover on the ice. It’s a cold but sunny day. It’s mostly quiet out here in the middle of the lake, but we can hear the ice creak and vibrate.

Looking over a snowy field with ploughed clods showing through. Almost halfway across a farmyard stretches across with buildings and rows of hay bales sitting among trees. Beyond the land drops and we seemore snowy fields before the forest begins that stretches all the way to the foothills which rise blue and hazy with ribbons of fog or smoke. These give way to mountains that rise jagged and snowcapped, still catching a little post-sunrise glow, with rolling clouds just above them. Higher up the sky is lightly overcast with ribbons and wisps and strips of blue here and there.

pt 3 The mountains were pretty with recent snow + a bit of morning light hitting the peaks, lingering haze/fog/smoke making them look more like paintings than photographs. (Note: zoomed a bit, mountains are not so close)

the end of a stick on the forest floor, with something resembling thick white fur growing from its un-barked portions. Unsure if this is a fungus of some sort, or possibly an exotic form of frost.

Eine Eisschicht, die nicht glatt ist, sondern aussieht, wie mit einem Farbpinsel ungleichmäßig verteilt, spiegelt den Himmel und eine Trauerweide verzerrt wieder. Ein vertrocknetes Blatt liegt auf dem Eis.

Das Eis erscheint fast wie ein abstraktes Bild mit Farben zwischen braun, gold und braun.

Hier spiegelt die Eisschicht den Himmel - sie wirkt also blau bis dunkel und die Riefen des Eises erscheinen wie gerade und zum Teil parallele Streifen.

Blaues Eis mit einer unregelmäßigen Oberfläche, darunter zwei große eher geschwungene Bereiche.

Hedera helix, ivy in the frost - the umbels where the berries used to be look like spiky baubles or a 1970s lamps. They're covered in tiny frost spikes. In the background there is sunlight and a very blurred wire fence. The green of the ivy leaves has some sunny spots.

A frozen lake landscape. It's cold and quiet, but sunny. The sun is low even at ~11:00 AM because it's early January in Sweden. A long track of footprints is visible on the ice, probably from a dog running on the frozen lake a couple days before the picture was taken, when there was wet snow on top. It's now all hard frozen, which preserved the footprints. The low sun's reflection shines across the entire lake. A marina is visible in the background, but all boats were taken out of the water before the winter.

Large ice crystals scattered on the surface of a frozen lake. They were possibly (? not sure) deposited and built up by moist wind hitting rougher spots on the ice.

Forgot to post this yesterday, but today is a holiday in Sweden (Epiphany), so it still feels like a #SilentSunday.

It finally got cold enough to freeze the lakes. Beautiful frost seen while walking in the quiet cold air on a sunny day. Wonderful. ❄️ ☀️ 😌
