Designed by C.J.McNair in an Art Deco style and built in 1939, the Ascot was considered a super-cinema as it had a capacity of 1,963 people. It closed as a cinema in 1975 and only the facade now remains.

The former Govanhill branch of the Glasgow Savings Bank on Cathcart Road in Glasgow. Designed by J.C. McKellar, it was built in 1903. While it's a beautiful building, by the standards of the Glasgow Savings Bank, it's a relatively restrained design.
