I topped up the sunflower heart feeder first thing in the morning and it was nearly empty by late afternoon. These two siskins are battling it out whilst one watches.
Siskin versus greenfinch. You can see the size difference here but often the siskins win.

I know that I have developed an obsession with Greenfinches. I would say that they are the biggest success story of the #weedypond - I hadn't foreseen that at all, 10 years ago.

3/3 The finches use the weedy pond throughout the year - this clip is from February.
They come to the pond not only for bathing but also to feed on the seeds of the water plants.
It's the weedy pond that really attracts & anchors the finches to the area.
