You found me Where did she go? She had been right beside me and then, suddenly, she was gone. I searched frantically for her for years. the memory of her smile still fading with each passing day. Her laugh became a haunting chamber of echoes, tormenting me. I blamed myself for losing her in the first place. So caught up with the idea of growing up and being taken seriously, I forgot to have fun and enjoy the things I once loved, and - in that moment - I had lost her. I had lost myself. Maybe that was the answer. I began to look back on all the years wasted, and there, in the distance, I could see the shadowy remnants of my inner-child. I rushed to her, tears in my eyes as I scooped her up in my arms. “I’m sorry! I’m so, so sorry!” “You found me.” She said with a smile. “I won’t lose you again.” I say, setting her down and taking her tiny hand in mine, “Let’s try this again. This time, we’ll go together.” Fayre Skye #halfbakedprompts
