The shrub Red crowberry, Emphtrum rubrum, is colloquially called diddle-dee and covers much of the Falkland Islands' heathland as a low, woody-stemmed dense plant and contributes to the thick peat, its berries are edible but very dry and bitter so are predominantly used, along with huge amounts of sugar, to make jam for the tourists😅. Although the Dotterel don't eat the berries they nest in the protection given by the plants thick cover and pick off the abundant insects during summer. The bird in the photo is standing sideways, head partly turned towards the camera showing the mottled brown plumage, larger feathers bordered with orange, a large black band separating the orange chest from the white belly and flank. It has a small black eyestripe leading back from the far corner of its eye topped with a bushy larger white stripe

My crabapple tree was laden with fruit this year, was being the operative word as the redwing and blackbirds have now more or less stripped it. This image shows a redwing high in its branches with the prize of an entire crabapple in its beak, which it promptly flew off with to enjoy at its leisure.
