Chicken of the woods, a type of shelf fungus. The picture shows several of the fan-shaped fungi stacked upon each other. They are orange at the base and that stretches out across most of the fungus. There is a wide white or tan bar toward the edge and a light orange line at the outer edge. There are about nine visible in the shot, with the largest one in the middle, a couple under that, and some smaller ones atop and to the left of the large one.

A bold Orange colored mushroom growing from a mossy green downed log. It is not shaped like a "toadstool" but more fan shaped with lighter colored frilled edges. It is viewed from the side, showing the slim shelf-like profile.

A solitary delicate looking mushroom with the typical stem and cap. It is growing from first floor debris of sticks, pine needles, and small bits of bark. It's background is a patch of green moss. It is hard to tell the color of the stem because the cap shades it so well. But it is perhaps a cream color. The edge of the cap has a cream color as well, with the slightly upturned edge having an odd light green tint. The rest of the cap is not pointy, but a bit bulbous, and starts as an orange color, which gets darker toward the top.

A flush of capped mushrooms growing under a small green shoot with leaves. First debris covers most of the ground, with some moss, and the mushrooms seem to be growing from two down trees. Other green shoots with leaves grow in a criss cross l across the top of the frame.

A fairly dense population of mushrooms sprouting from a cut log end. The mushrooms look more shelf like, and are colored from light brown to dark green. In the background are many green leaves and ferns.

Went on a Sunday #hike with the gang, and saw some cool #mushrooms! The bold orange, frilled edged one is a variety of #ChickenOfTheWoods. The rest I'll leave to more mycology oriented folks to decide. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Found a big ol’ stump covered in Chicken of the woods yesterday!

Ended up with some nice chanterelle buttons too! Many buttons had become moldy due to the yo-yo weather we’ve had. Kind of a bummer even though I encounter it at some point every year.
