... but used these places in times of war as camps of refuge for their cattle

Returned from Sherborne yesterday via the country lanes to Wytherstone and Powerstock to see the spring flowers in the hedges.
These views of Eggardon and Shipton appeared. Look closely and you can see the road dropping off the ramparts at Eggardon. The signpost is at Powerstock
Chesters Hill Fort in East Lothian in Scotland was probably built in the first millennium BC, and was occupied into the Roman occupation of Britain in the early centuries of the first millennium AD. The remains of several houses are visible within the fort. #HillfortsWednesday
