This week we had two incredible speakers at @ciml.bsky.social, both #interferoSky fans. After @boulantlab.bsky.social talking about basal #IFN lambda in the gut, today Nelson Gekara spoke about how the gut microbiota, and self nucleic acids affects basal #IFN-I systemically!

Very cool study out in @cp-cellhostmicrobe.bsky.social today! The #Dinglab shows how #IFN-λ made in response to enteric viruses lowers sodium transporter DRA in enterocites inducing diarrhea. Nice confirmation of our data on #IBD patients as well!

Fascinating study, I wonder how it is sensed if it's intracellular...nice hypotheses in the study (quick recycling of the receptor and sensing in the endosomes) but no data yet. Staying tuned! #interferosky
