Impressively fresh and youthful for its age, with good structure and balance. The high alcohol is well integrated by now. I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent. Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. A gorgeous wine to drink by itself or with food. A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre. Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This 7 year old GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape is starting to drink very nicely now. Complex and well balanced. Fresh and engaging. I've had a few older vintages of this wine, and it definitely improves with age. Elegant, and good by itself or with food. A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Aged in large French oak barrels. A tiny production of only 1,000 bottles. 15% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $120.

Domaine Durieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape Lucile Avril 2022, Rhône, France Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Fresh cherries on the nose with chocolate notes. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing red cherries, currants, plums, licorice, chocolates, herbs and earth. Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a delicious Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Rich and powerful. Well balanced and complex. The high alcohol is well integrated already. Nicely Structured and tasty, with a Northern Rhone feel. Interesting stuff. Still young, but already drinking beautifully. A great vintage that is already showing its potential. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. Aged in mostly concrete vats. 15% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $50.
