Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, sweet cherries, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, light oak, black tea, vegetables and peppercorn. Tangy on the finish with fine grained tannins. This tasty red blend from California is complex and fruit forward, with enough earth notes to round it up. Nicely balanced and easy drinking right out of the bottle, with a very interesting nose. Showing nice complexity already, and enjoyable even by itself. Feels like a Cotes du Rhône red. Very interesting out of California. Good right out of the bottle, and gets more complex after 30 minutes of airtime. Good by itself or with food, and a good party wine too. I gave it a light chill, and had it by the pool. Paired very nicely with my Italian Prosciutto and crackers. A blend of 30% Grenache, 17% Aglianico, 14% petite Sirah, 14% Tempranillo, 9% Cinsault, 9% Mourvedre, 4% Roussanne and 3% Counoise. This tasty Rosé from Bandol is still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Already drinking very nicely, and will continue to get better in the next 10 years. I had the 2023 vintage recently, and it is already drinking better now. Rich and well structured. Nicely balanced and easy drinking. A nice sipping wine, good by itself or with food. A blend of 70% Mourvedre, 25% Cinsault and 5% Grenache. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $35.
