This Mourvèdre from Bandol is still very young, yet tasty and already enjoyable, even by itself. Tannic, and needs 10 years in the bottle to mature properly. Good by itself or with food. A blend of 81% Mourvedre, 9% Grenache, 8% Cinsault and 2% Carignan. Aged in large oak barrels for 18 months. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 90 points. $40.

Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This 5-year-old Syrah blend from Columbia Valley is drinking nicely right out of the bottle, but better after 2 hours of airtime. As it opens up, more earth notes show up and bring more complexity. Feels like a heavy Southern Rhone red. This 5 year old Syrah is drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years. Rich and fruit forward. Soft and elegant, with a mouth coating feel. Spicy and complex. A blend of 70% Syrah, 22% Carignan and 8% Mourvedre. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $25.

This tasty red Bandol from the great 2022 vintage, is starting to drink very nicely now. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and fresh. This Single Vineyard Mourvedre is easy drinking, and better with some airtime. Showing nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years. A blend of 75% Mourvedre, 14% Grenache, 9% Cinsault and 2% Syrah and Carignan. Great right out of the bottle, but even better after a few hours of air, when the complexity really comes to life. The alcohol is very nicely integrated by now. Easy drinking and nicely balanced. A great sipping wine. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $35.

This 9 year old Israeli Carignan is still drinking nicely, but will not last long. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better with some air time. I had this vintage a few times before, and it peaked around 3 years ago. 100% Carignan grapes were aged for 16 months in French Oak barrels. Unfined and unfiltered. Kosher and not Mevushal. 13% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $40 (current vintage).
