Ruby in color with light intensity and a wide reddish rim. Fruity nose of red currants, cherries, earth, black coffee, chocolates, chalk and light oak. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with red fruits, earth, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, vegetables, herbs and black tea. Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a very tasty Barbaresco. Easy drinking and elegant, but not as smooth as I expected it to be. This 5 year old feels like it needs more time in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. This Single Vineyard Nebbiolo is complex and interesting. Good by itself and better with food. 100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged for 2 years in large oak barrels. A small production of only 3,500 bottles. 14% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $80.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, cherries, light oak, chocolates, herbs, black pepper and spices. Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This young Pinot Noir from Oregon is already drinking beautifully. Fruit forward and elegant. Complex, rich and entertaining. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and smooth. Needs an hour to open up properly, so be patient. Feels like more like a California Pinot right out of the bottle, but gets much earthier after a couple of hours of airtime. Good by itself and better when not too cold. 13.4% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $78.

This 5 year old Merlot from Saint Emilion is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Nicely balanced with nice complexity. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and soft. Spicy and entertaining. Good by itself or with food. A great sipping wine. A blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc. Nicely balanced and elegant. Fruit forward and complex. Rich, but not extracted. This 7 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend is starting to drink beautifully right now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. Loved the complexity on the nose. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 93 points. $110.

Strong nose of black fruits with chocolate notes. Full bodied and soft with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with black cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn. Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a very tasty Cabernet Franc from Pomerol. Soft and elegant. Balanced and complex. Still young, but already enjoyable even by itself. Spicy and rich. Fruit forward and elegant with good structure. Interesting stuff from the Right Bank of Bordeaux. 100% Cabernet Franc grapes were aged for 15 months in (75% new) French Oak barrels. 14% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $35.

A great vintage that will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Complex and nicely balanced. The nose gives Northern Rhone vibes. Easy drinking and an interesting wine. Still very young, but already enjoyable, even by itself. A blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah. The Grenache comes from 100 year old vines. Aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months. A small production of less than 3,300 bottles. Made only in special vintages. 15% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $110.
