Earthy nose with black fruits and chocolate notes. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, dark chocolates, coffee, light vegetables, herbs and black pepper. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Paulliac. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex, elegant and fruit forward. This 9 year old is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Easy drinking, and good by itself or with food. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Aged in (75% new) French oak barrels for 17 months. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $85.

Showing overripe citrus and apple fruits with oak, spices, light vanilla, herbs, tangerines, light honeysuckle, sea salt and white pepper. Nice length on the finish with herbs and dried fruits. This 9 year old Chardonnay is still drinking beautifully. So nice to see that. Complex and entertaining. Nicely balanced, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Rich and elegant, and still shows lots of fruits. Paired nicely with the Italian Prosciutto. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $25 (at release).

This 7 year old Mourvedre blend from Yakima Valley is still drinking nicely, although a little past its prime. Soft and smooth. Elegant and fruit forward. This Single Vineyard GSM blend is elegant and feels more like a like Southern Rhone red. Nicely balanced with nice complexity. A blend of 70% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $45.

Gorgeous nose of sweet blueberries, blackberries, black plum preserve, dried figs, mediterranean spices, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, light alcohol, herbs, peppercorn, eucalyptus and light black tea. Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, cedar, licorice, chocolates, dried figs, light bitter herbs, light earth, cola, light vegetables, spices and tobacco leaf. Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries. This young Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully already. Rich and fruit forward. Complex and interesting. Nicely balanced with a smooth mouthfeel. Spicy, tangy and entertaining. Majestic, with good structure. Good right out of the bottle and so much better after 3 hours in the decanter. Already showing a very complex nose, even at this young age. Very impressive. I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent. Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Has good potential to become a 97+ point wine. A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak. More complex on the palate than the nose, and better when properly chilled. Actually feels like a sweet sparkling wine with a touch of orange juice. A good alternative to Mimosa. 11.5% alcohol by volume. $30.

Very aromatic nose of wild flowers, light cranberries, roses, grapefruits, green apples, vegetables, minerals and bitter herbs. Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, limes, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth and sea salt. Tangy finish with herbs and bitter almonds. This is a tasty Rosé from Sonoma. Crisp and refreshing, with lots of earth notes. Feels like a Provence Rosé. Good right out of the bottle, and better when properly chilled. A good food wine that paired nicely with my charcuterie board of dried meats and cheeses. Pinot Noir grapes were aged for 2 months on the lees. A tiny production of less than 1,000 bottles. 13.1% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $28.
