Moet Hennessy Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Champagne Rosé 2006, France Copper in color with a golden hue. Fruity nose with light yeast, light raspberries, apples, light metals and caramel notes. Medium plus in body with medium acidity and tiny bubbles. Dry and fruit forward on the palate with over ripened apples, light red fruits, limes, citrus, spices, light yeast, sea salt, light earth and herbs. Long finish with limes. This is a delicious Rosé Champagne. Elegant, and a tad over it's peak. Complex and interesting. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. A blend of 47% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. Disgorged in 2013. 12.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $100.

Your Dinner Companions: Domaine Artema Winery Village Sparkling Rose and La Petite Mort I saved my last two wines from Domaine Artema Winery to be their Village Sparkling Rosé 2024 and their La Petite Mort (port style), NV, dessert wine. These two wines can cover the start and end of a delicious dinner. I did not decant either wine. In the first case, you don't want the delicious bubbles in your sparkling wine to dissipate and the latter, dessert wines, with their high sugar content, tend to stay unchanged in aromas and flavours over a long time.

Gamay is a red wine grape with less tannins and more acidity, making it easier to sip on its own as well as being food friendly. Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon Champagne Brut Rosé 2008, France #AgedWineTuesday Pretty color of light salmon. Nose of strawberries, light raspberries, limes, green apples, light yeast, minerals and spices. Medium plus in body with medium acidity and small bubbles. Dry on the palate with strawberries, tart cherries, lemons, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth, yeast, sea salt, light brioche and minerals. This 17 year old Rosé Champagne is always delicious. Rich and plentiful. Nicely balanced and elegant. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 7 years. Easy drinking, complex and interesting. Crisp and refreshing. Wine Spectator 97 points. Needs 30 minutes of airtime to open up properly. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. A blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay. 12.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $450.
