The Vice Wines The Waterfall Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Ruby in color with medium plus intensity and a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose with red and blue fruits, light oak, spices, wild flowers and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, plums, tobacco, licorice, light oak, coffee, spices, chocolates, peppercorn and light tea.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is starting to drink very nicely now. Tangy and spicy. Complex with a nice mouthfeel. Tangy and engaging.

Showing good structure, and needs a few more years in the bottle to mature properly. Fruity, but not in your face kind of wine.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be interesting to revisit it in 5 years.

Needs a couple of hours in the decanter to open up properly. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from vines grown at 2,400 feet of elevation, were aged in (70% new) French Oak barrels for 24 months. A small production of only 3,000 bottles.

14.3% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$125.

This 7 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles is drinking very nicely now. Elegant and easy drinking.

Rich and fruit forward. Complex, engaging and interesting.

I had this vintage a few times before, and it is drinking better now. Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim, and medium plus intensity.

Red fruits on the nose with light oak, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, herbs and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, cherries, light oak, chocolates, herbs, black pepper and spices.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This young Pinot Noir from Oregon is already drinking beautifully. Fruit forward and elegant. Complex, rich and entertaining.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and smooth.

Needs an hour to open up properly, so be patient. Feels like more like a California Pinot right out of the bottle, but gets much earthier after a couple of hours of airtime.

Good by itself and better when not too cold.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is already drinking beautifully. Such a great surprise.

Well balanced with great complexity. Soft, with a smooth mouthfeel.

This 6 year old Cabernet is elegant and robust at the same time.
Rich and extracted. Powerful, yet restrained. Loved the nose here.

Good right out of the bottle, but so much better after 4 hours of airtime.

I had the 2013 vintage 3 years ago, but it wasn't as good as this one. Might have been that specific bottle.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves.

Such a great experience to drink it with the wine maker.
