A millipede traversing some rough concrete. It is a long shelled creature with many segments. Each segment has two pairs of red segmented legs and a shiny chitinous shell, colored black with red trim along the edges.

Look at who I found in the parking lot! A Semionellus placidus looking gorgeous in a black outfit with red trim! I think. If it is a Semionellus, its coloration is a warning that it exudes cyanide when threatened #millipede #myriapod

A bright white arthropod with 22 legs and long, pearly antennae crawls around the fine grains of a piece of wet cedar. The animal is very tiny, and the camera view is extremely close.

A symphylan! These are a secretive group of myriapods, a sister group to millipedes and centipedes. They are usually quite small and hard to find.

One animals that looks like a woodlouse and is often mistaken for it is the Common pill millipede , Glomeris marginata. But it belongs to the Myriapods like other millipedes and centipedes.
