The 1st verified GB records of Fen Raft #Spider were from @suffolkwildlife.bsky.social Redgrave & Lopham Fen #NNR, #Ramsar site in 1956. Remnant populations have since been found at only 2 more sites but new populations established by translocation are thriving.

The delicacy of some fruiting bodies of some #fungi fascinates me. Here a fragile ink-cap growing on still moist peat at Cothill #fen #NNR. If I were to try & collect, it would disintegrate, so I'm just enjoying the lovely radial symmetry of gills seen here through transparent cap & shedding hairs

Odd, weird even, but it is all biodiversity. These strange green'granules' growing on very short chalk grassland turf are surely galls of the mite Aceria ononidis on Rest harrow Ononis repens at Aston Rowant #NNR. A normal ungalled shoot just visible. @rowantnnr.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social
