A single hydrangea bloom. The petals are purple with some blue and white markings on the petals. The smaller new growth is a pale yellow with a tinge on purple around the edge.

I was surprised to see the variety of colours available in hydrangea plants at the garden centre. I have never seen a purple one before. 💜

A group of bright purple petals on a Lunaria annua, commonly called honesty or annual honesty, growing wild on a green bank below a hedge and next to a steep lane. The lane rises up towards a field on the left at the top where a large Oak tree, still without its covering of green, stands guard.
