#rhsbridgewater Had a good day. Now shattered 😜 Have a lovely night all xx
Pheasant at #rhsbridgewater. There are several now. The gardens are near a gun club, but luckily for the pheasants they just shoot clay pigeons, phew!

Managed to take this photo by accident. Clearly Sr. Heron didn't want his picture taken...
That'll do.

Family trip to RHS Glow light trail at RHS Bridgewater Gardens this evening. 1st time we’ve tried out RHS Glow & it was great, I think we’ll be back! Instead of brash & noisy it was elegant & relaxing, highlighting & enhancing the gardens rather than detracting.

Photograph taken at RHS Bridgewater, Greater Manchester, in the very late autumn/early winter. A single long branch with red berries leans over a sharp edged still pond of water causing a beautiful reflections. The red berries contrast with a large clump of soft lime ornamental grass against deep brown soil, and an old brick wall behind. Love visiting this garden, even in deep winter. Great place for a walk, for inspiration and a bit of gift shop fuddling!

Photograph taken from a bridge in the Chinese Streamside garden area at RHS Bridgewater in very late November a few years ago. A series of small ponds surrounded by stones show reflections of the winter skeleton trees and surrounding bushes. A couple of acers cling on to the last of their colourful leaves. Sky overhead is a pale grey. In distance is a string of bright red Chinese lanterns. Love this peaceful garden, despite it being nestled in the urban sprawl of Manchester. Always something new to see when visiting in each season. I created a very colourful, flower-free garden many years ago. It was a fun challenge - focusing on contrasting leaf shapes and colours, with an array of different heuchera.

#rhsbridgewater on the Monday following Storm Amy. Just look at all those ladybirds on the pillar. We were covered in them. Thinking is that they were gathering to mate, or maybe nest. Whatever the reason it was certainly a learning experience!
Such an intricate centre on toad flowers, very similar to the structure of passion flowers
#MacroMonday & #MagentaMonday combined with a fabulous toad flower at #RHSBridgewater yesterday. Must be related to passion flowers somewhere with that distinctive centre! @macrohour.bsky.social #bloomscrolling #DailyFlowers
