this was the first time I ever tried "painting" digitally!
Digital painting of a white-breasted nuthatch clinging to the right side of a smallish tree trunk. It is in profile facing down except it has its neck and head stretched so that it is gazing out the right side of the image. It is a small bird with black cap, white head, neck and belly with soft gray wings with a touch of light blue and highlighted by edges of black and white.
Don't know if painting with digital tools counts for the theme of #paint for today's #RepostYourArt, but I have enjoyed developing a more painterly style in the past few years. I still do simpler things as well, but it is fun to spend many hours getting immersed in the details on one like this.

Fanart tribute to “The Simpsons” Halloween episode "Treehouse of Horror IV". It depicts Bart, dressed in a suit, looking straight on camera with creepy serene smile while standing on background of the wall with framed paintings hanging on. These paintings appear to be alive and expanding slightly beyond the frames, and each depicting characters from the parts of the episode: Devil Flanders, the bus gremlin, Dracula Mr. Burns, and Homer with his head turned into the donut.

Sigma and Bastion are sitting in a trash container in a corner of an alleyway, filled with trash, playing chess. a yellow bird sits on top of Bastion observing the game. Sigma is floating ever since he was exposed to a failed black hole experiment which also severely messed up his mind. there is a lot of garbage all around and water on the ground, reflecting some of the colourful lights. there is also one stronger lamp above the characters, putting them in a bit of a spotlight.
