My Strava report. Week 7 of my half marathon training even though this run was meant to be next Sunday! I’ll do a longer one next Sunday with one of my club mates.
The weather this week has been terrible, but I managed to get my Long Run in today with a nice rainstorm hitting me in the final kilometre.
Kept to a nice pace though, and didn’t get too wet!

My Strava summary for tonight’s run.
Third fastest ever 5k
My split times showing how I hit my targets, I started off conservatively after the warmup as I settled in and gradually relaxed in to it.
Not only did I hit my pace targets tonight, I ran my third fastest ever 5k. Overall, a really good night. Time for a shower before the football.

“Derby County Community Trust confirmed it had received feedback that the route may have been short in distance, following the event on Sunday…”.
I imagine everyone who ran the race with a GPS watch immediately spotted it!

My Strava summary
Pace targets in the first two blocks achieved but I couldn’t hit the final 2km target. Good run though.
Garmin badge for running 10km today.
The first 8km of my #LongRunSunday went great and I hit the pace targets in my Runna plan. The last 2km were hard and I struggled.
Week 5 of training completed.

We had to rejig the roster this morning and I had to step in as an extra marshal from funnel manager.
It was an absolutely glorious morning for #parkrun after last night’s torrential rain. Parts of the course were slippy but we coped.

Meren salmi, jäälohkareita, kaislaa, poiju.

Just a couple of marshals needed for the morning & we will have a full squad! Lots to look forward to in the coming weeks *let’s go yellow on Easter Saturday *there’s a group from Walney Musical Theatre group doing a ‘nun run’ at parkrun to promote their upcoming show ‘Sister Act’ *we will be supporting Pride at the end of May *AND (we all love this one) it’s about time we got another pacers week scheduled in…. Meanwhile - just rock up at the bandstand 8:50am tomorrow & we’ll get another parkrun smashed in 🤗🤗 x
A few things happening at Barrow #Parkrun over the next few weeks.
Like a lot of parkruns we seem to be going through a patch of low volunteer numbers. So I’m doing the Course Check tomorrow and then Funnel Manager for the first time (giving up my run).

3km gentle pace as I ran a few errands while getting used to my new race shoes; followed by 5km at an easy pace further from home. The carbon plate does feel a little weird, but it’s good to start adapting to it now.

Well, today was tough but I managed to maintain target pace for the first two intervals, nowhere on the third and just a bit off on the final one.
College this afternoon!

Strava report for this morning’s run around Barrow.
Garmin badge for completing a 5k run.
Badge unlocked on my Garmin for completing a fitness activity on #InternationalWomensDay
Shortish run today in my Runna plan for #LongRunSunday
6km around Barrow at easy pace and it gave me chance to wear my new PEBAX plated shoes again. Slowly getting used to the feel of them and next week the distance starts to increase.

Oli kyllä hienoa kuunnella lintujen laulua ja nähdä auringon nousevan aamulenkkiä vetäessä. Yksinkertaiset asiat tekevät onnelliseksi ja hyvä niin. #juoksutaivas #runningsky #runhappy
My Strava report for this morning’s running.
And the feedback from Strava. More uplifting than Runna, which spotted that I ran too quick in my first segment and slowed down on the last one as I was going uphill!
My new under armour socks got a christening this morning, they’re a bit more like a compression socks than my usual running ones. So the reviews say they’re better on longer runs, giving more support and comfort. I’ll see how they get on.
Tempo session this morning, and I hit my targets huzzah. Chilling for a bit now before college this afternoon.
Also, wore my new socks today and they seem to be very comfortable. I’ll see how they cope with longer runs in the coming weeks.

My Strava report for today.
Gorgeous morning for a run, easy pace and my new running shoes did great for their first tryout.
#Running #Runningsky
Trying on my new Hoka Mach X 3’s. Easy run today at conversational pace so an ideal opportunity to try them out before my training starts to ramp up again. I really love the colour.
As it’s a de-load week in my #HalfMarathon training block, and I’m down for a 5.5k ‘Easy Run’ it seems an ideal opportunity to try out my new Hoka Mach X 3’s.
I’ll report back in a while on how I get on with them.
#Running #Runningsky
My Strava summary and I ran my second fastest time for a 10km which is a nice bonus for a training run. My next planned 10k race is on May 1st.
My split times which I think are saying I hit my target paces give or take a few seconds.
The graph I think means I hit my pace targets. Not bad when you consider when people are out running you’re dodging pedestrians, other runners, cyclists (on the pavement) and dog walkers. Some of the time I ran on the road just to avoid people.
My Garmin summary. Very pleased with that average pace over 10km. Didn’t push myself, just kept it all on plan and under control.
Hit my target for today with my 9km Progressive Run for the end of my third week of #HalfMarathon training. De-Load Week next week, and then the distances start to ramp up. Added on an extra kilometre today to reach Morrisons for some refuelling treats. 🥰
