A large patch of turkey tail mushrooms sprouting on a rotting log. The visible bit of the log is dark grey with smaller green patches of moss because it’s wet from a recent rain. The larger turkey tail mushrooms are curved, almost ruffled at the edges, and striped with variegated green colors. Hike at Spring Lake Woods and Bog today. It was perfect. Followed by a murder of crows. Stalked by a red belly woodpecker. Plenty of moss. And the woods smelled delicious.
