Hidden in the boughs of a tree,
I gaze on the world below,
breath held
within this arboreal sanctuary.
Time slows.
Danger drifts past,
and only then
do I clamber down
returned,
safely, to the ground.

There's a #revenant wind
shaking the #boughs
of the trees,
it speaks the #language
of righteous vengeance,
howling against
#passive acceptance
of the powers that be—
no longer happy
to remain #kooky,
whistling
from the sidelines—
rather it roars
with #energy
to #pursue
an end
to tyranny.

How graceful grow her limbs
The sweetly curving browning
Reaching up and outward
Yearning and yearning
For sunlight and the blue sky
Inevitably changing
Flowering
Budding
Leafing
Fruiting
Fertile all through every season
Until the Winter sleeping
Her quiet undressed boughs
Bare boughs creak a song
their joints singing with the wind
as it passes by

Angels in the Snow I ride the sledge down the frozen hill, a mountain to that child wrapped in a woollen coat and snowball-soggy sheepskin mittens. I must be going a million miles an hour, hurtling toward the outstretched arms of my father, who catches me just before I fly off into space. We tumble to the marshmallow ground, a constellation of limbs beneath the tree. and lie there, hearts racing, laughing angels pressed into snow. I look up through frosted boughs, brittle as bone. Vampire-toothed filigree cuts against the winter-blue sky. And I remember the willows on the plates in my mother’s kitchen, where everything is delicious, nothing is broken.
Happy memories of snowy days gone by.

Boughs rattled in a
Skeletal parody, winds
So unforgiving.

She perched in the #boughs ninja-style and watched it unfold, the kiss and hug at the door, the children running to him, the family man home after the work week
She dipped her chin and cried, strung along by lies, nothing but a side bitch, and went home

The boughs which can be seen
are not the real boughs;
Or or do I mean the tao?
Of perpetual garble I’m queen.
My life regular confusion endows,
Which by law should rouse
wisdom aplenty: dunno just how.
Yet, no matter how my mind flakes,
I know your Christmas tree’s a fake.

They came for the old
Without care, boughs
Stripped, laid bare in
Pieces flipped, kicked
As unworthy, burned as
Early morning blotted by
Smoke, they spoke a
Final word unheard as
Again, there was no care
Our forest gone and
None were spared

Hello Wild Walk #writers
Today's word rests within the trees themselves, the perch of birds, leaves, and recently, snow.

“This wood burns a dark
Incense. Pale moss drips
In elbow-scarves, beards
From the archaic
Bones of the great trees.”

It's raining today, and I'm tired.
