My first painting of 2026. I was painting today in Cadmore End, behind Rackleys, over looking the Fingest valley. It was very cold, so I could only manage 3 hours before it got too cold. Oil on gessopanel, 24 x. 30 cm.

A wide path through trees, the ground covered in brown fallen leaves. Some of the trees are green, others have some orange and yellow leaves. Some light patches but no sunlight visible.

My little family has spent the afternoon doing what it loves: husband did a 10 mile run, I photographed in the woods, and the dog stayed at home, sleeping on the sofa!
