Some of our members and friends spent a couple of hours this morning litter picking along The Moors as part of the #GreatBritishSpringClean

We collected 12 bags, a mattress, duvet, car wheel & tyre, a child's bike and various other grot.

After yesterday's #GreatBritishSpringClean litter-picking session by our members in the City Centre, the ancient streets #Colchester are now a lot cleaner and tidier than they were - by 33 bags worth of assorted grot.

Our members, supporters and friends were back along The Moors yesterday morning for our third #litterpick as part of the #GreatBritishLitterpick 2026.

We cleared 35 bags of assorted grot as well as 2 days bikes, a gas cylinder, #superman and an 'incy-wincy spider'

We cleared 63 bags of assorted grot plus stuff that wouldn't fit in bags- a lawn mower, office chairs, carpets, large bits of wood and lots more besides

The Priory Street Car Park had long needed a TLC. Multiple fence rails were broken or missing and there was uncontrolled weed growth. We reported - and then escalated - it with the city council - who sorted it.

Committee backs Main Street Bridge nomination to National Register; OGC says listing won’t impose city-level restrictions The Rules Committee voted 7-0 to support nominating the Main Street Bridge to the National Register of Historic Places; the Office of General Counsel clarified a National Register listing does not place city regulatory restrictions on FDOT-owned bridges.

We reported this seriously bent parking sign in Rosebery Avenue to the North Essex Parking Parternership (NEPP).

We're delighted that it's no longer bent and has been repositioned to reduce the likelihood of another vehicle strike.

We're not sure why someone would dump a large LCD TV on a City Centre Pavement but it takes all sorts we suppose....

We reported this one outside the Globe Hotel on North Station Road and it's now sorted.

We first reported this uneven kerb stone to @EssexHighways over five years ago. We're pleased to say it's now, eventually, been repaired - well sort of.
