A good way to spend a Good Friday: find a good grass heap, do a bit of gentle sieving (panning for pseudoscorpion gold) and find a few good pseuds, in this case Lamprochernes nodosus. #arachnids #pseudoscorpions #invertebrates

One of my favourite arthropods. The pseudoscorpions turn up in sifted litter trays and stomp about with such attitude, even through they are so tiny!

Took my trusty sieve with me when I cycled out to Ladybelt CP yesterday and managed to find a single Neobisium carcinoides - sieved from dry moss under a log (log carefully rolled back into position afterwards). #arachnids #pseudoscorpions

Searching a small dung heap in Long Melford (Suffolk) today produced my first self-found #pseudoscorpions (well, one). I believe this is Pselaphochernes scorpioides, but would certainly welcome the opinion of others.

I remember some years ago when I saw a little insect on my wall. I thought it had a weird shape, so I took a picture and magnified it. And it had arms with pincers, just like a tiny scorpion. πŸ¦‚ But it didn't have the tail. Turns out this is a pseudo scorpion. Never seen one since. #pseudoscorpions
